Fort Lauderdale bass fishing can really allow you to experience all that Florida is about. When you are traveling here, you have to set the hook into our exotic species. The Florida peacock bass is the dominant bass that is fished here in Miami. Our local experts have extensive knowledge about fishing here in South Florida. Miami is not the only destination that can produce exotics. Broward county holds excellent waters to do so as well. Captain Robert Miley is our Miami local expert and Captain Brett Isackson is our Broward County local expert.
Captain Robert Miley had the pleasure to go bass fishing with Julie and Don. They were traveling from Dallas, Texas on vacation. While they were here in South Florida, bass fishing was on the list to do. Julie and Don went out on a quick 4 hour trip that led them to experience something they never imagined. It was truly a trip of a lifetime for them.
Several lakes and canal systems fill South Florida. In Miami, one of the best lakes is Airport Lakes. Airport Lakes has a side lake called Blue Lagoon that has produced excellent fishing all year long. One of the impressive parts about fishing in Blue Lagoon is the ability to catch a variety of species. Florida peacock bass dominate the waterway but you can also catch Snook, jack crevalle, largemouth bass, tilapia and a number of other members of the cichlid family.
Airport Lakes is a great destination for anglers that want the ultimate experience. As well, it is great for family, loved ones, and inexperienced anglers that want to set the hook. Every chance to do so can lead to the fish you dream about. Julie and Don can attest to that fact.
Weather conditions were beautiful for this fishing trip. Everything lined up for an absolute slugfest on the water. Julie and Don caught 10 quality peacock bass with all of them in the 3 to 5-pound range. The biggest bass weighed 5.25 pounds. A fish of this magnitude is considered a trophy peacock bass. Along with this great catch, they also caught a monster freshwater Snook.
This Snook weighed in at 17 pounds and took them for a fight they won’t forget. Just shortly after bringing this giant to the boat, they also caught a 12 pound jack crevalle. This fishing trip was a never ending day of catching fish. Julie and Don caught a big tilapia to top it off. When you visit Miami, you can catch all the species you can hope for.
Captain Robert Miley is looking forward to catching so many more exotic species in Miami next time they come back to enjoy South Florida Fishing.
Just shortly after this fishing trip, Julie and Don traveled further north to Broward County to see what they can get themselves into. Captain Brett Isackson had the pleasure of fishing with them at Markham Park which is right on the edge of the Florida Everglades as well as Fort Lauderdale. They were able to experience more bass fishing along with checking off another Florida exotic on their list.
Florida blessed them with another beautiful day on the water. Don and Julie put several more exotic species in the boat including peacock bass and snakeheads. They also caught a Snook but nothing compared to the one they caught in Miami. Don and Julie were excited to get the opportunity to catch the exotic snakehead. They really enjoyed their aggressive strike along with their powerful fight.
Captain Brett Isackson is excited to get another opportunity to catch more species with Don and Julie next time they visit South Florida!
When you are planning your next vacation to South Florida, make sure to consider getting out in the outdoors. One of the best ways to do so is on a bass fishing charter. Ft Lauderdale Fishing
Florida is home to the BEST inshore fishing that you can experience. From east to west, you can find excellent destinations to search for your targeted species. While you are visiting the amazing beaches and enjoying the sunshine, getting outdoors is a must. Florida Inshore Fishing is one of the best ways to do so. Ft Lauderdale is on the upper east coast of Florida with exceptional fishing you can experience. You will never go wrong Ft Lauderdale Fishing for Snook and Tarpon or an abundance of other great Florida Fishing species.
Captain Brett Isackson adventured out with Leon Scott in search for an incredible fishing experience. Leon was traveling from Maryland to specifically come fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. It has always been a place he wanted to explore since it was known for its incredible Inshore Fishing. Early summer months are the perfect time to come crush some of the best inshore species around.
Fishing conditions were ideal for a day on the water. We adventured out into the waters of Fort Lauderdale near Port Everglades. The inshore waters were calm on this fishing trip. Most of those seas did not truly affect us as we fished the inshore along the beach and rocky shores.
When you think of Florida Fishing, Ft Lauderdale has it all. It is days like this on the water that truly represent that. Fishing Action was non-stop all trip long. The most effective technique was using live bait. Shrimp will also produce the most productive bite when fishing for snook and tarpon.
When fishing for these hard fighting species, make sure you come equipped with the best equipment. Penn Fishing makes by far the best fishing tackle you will need to land the fish of a lifetime. Rods and Reels whether combos or separate will help get the job done for you. They have an exceptional top of the line gear. You also need the right line and leader so you don’t lose the fight. 40-pound leader was the strength that helped put some of the quality fish we caught in the boat.
Leon landed several quality Snook and Tarpon. These two incredible Florida Inshore Fishing Species will provide ample fighting power that will keep you busy and excited you whole trip. Leon put 10 really nice Snook in the boat. Most were slot and were able to harvest up to the legal limit. Also, Leon was able to catch a nice tarpon near local bridges. All fish that were over slot were caught and released unharmed. Along with these amazing catches from Jack Crevalle and Sheepshead.
One of the best parts about fishing for inshore snook is that they are great eating. As long as you are harvesting the slot limits for each species, you are in the clear. Allow your professional Captain to clean and bag your fish after the trip has been completed. One interesting fact about Port Canaveral is that it is the largest gateway to American seafood consumers between Jacksonville and Key West. At anytime, you can see large shrimp boats unloading their catch!
Leon had a fantastic day Ft Lauderdale Fishing. Next time visiting from Maryland, he will make sure to explore more of this amazing fishery. Don’t miss this incredible action down here in Sunny Florida. The Space Coast is absolutely stunning with an abundance of outdoor fishing opportunities. Make sure to visit and check out this amazing place.
